The prevailing winds being South Westerly straight off the Atlantic means the Isle of Arran can deservedly claim to be -Clean and Green-- It was therefore the most natural place to establish the Island Cheese Company- and so in 1991 this family business was formed-The Cheese Shop now sits on the footprint of what was the original dairy for the Home Farm which supplied the Dukes and Duchesses of Brodick Castle for several centuries-
